Communicating with your Past, Present and Future Self like a Jedi with ChatGPT and Jedi Steve

Free your Mind and your ass will follow ~ George Clinton

Many people don’t realize that the Slave Master also endures trauma. To inflict pain on another is not just to strip away their humanity, but to diminish your own as well. Take a moment to reflect on the extent to which we have harmed one another throughout history. Regardless of where you find yourself on the spectrum of the Slave Master dynamic, it’s likely that you carry the weight of your ancestors’ trauma. But here’s the good news: we have the power to either exorcize (heal) our demons or exercise (magnify) them. Which path will you choose? The bright side is that we have a choice, and before we dive into solutions, let me share my signature formula to get shit done.

COMPASSION CAMPAIGN FORMULA

CE + H + C = CC

CE = Cause and Effect (Order Influenced by Past)

C = Chaos (Positive or Negative Change Agent Influencing Future)

H = Humility (Organized Chaos Influencing Past, Present and Future)

CC = Compassion Campaign

Present = Humility or Organized Chaos

Future  = Chaos

Past = Cause and Effect or Order

Present  = Master

Future = Mastery

Past = Slave

This issue has roots that go back a long time and may be what’s preventing us, both individually and collectively, from reaching our full potential. If you relate to this, you might struggle with authority, just as I do. I was surprised to realize that my Present Self is acting as an authority figure for my Past Self. The following explanation delves into how our shadow self is formed, highlighting the frustration of our past selves, especially when it’s our own present self that is holding us back.

Being told “no” as a child can contribute to the development of our shadow self by creating feelings of shame, rejection, or inadequacy. When children hear “no,” especially in response to their desires or emotions, they may learn to suppress certain aspects of themselves to gain approval or avoid conflict. This suppression can lead to the formation of a shadow self, which consists of the rejected parts of their personality, including emotions, desires, or traits deemed unacceptable. As these aspects are hidden away, they can later manifest in unhealthy ways, such as anxiety, anger, or self-doubt. Ultimately, the shadow self represents the parts of ourselves that we may struggle to accept, often making it difficult to achieve personal authenticity and fulfillment.

In your own way take a moment to Name Your Past, Present and Future Selves.  Mine our

Present  = Steve Jones

Future = Jedi Steve

Past = Jones-z

My present self, Steve Jones, is a reliable individual who shows up consistently. However, he feels more troubled than he’d like to admit by the conflict of his role as an authority figure for his own Past Self.

My Past Self, Jones-z was an expert at hitting rock bottom which gave him the knowledge to rebuild. Steve Jones (Present Self) and Jones-z (Past Self) are in a codependent relationship that was and can hold me back from taking  things to the next level.

What’s the solution? It involves aligning with the right version of ourselves at the right time. Before we delve into that, let’s first explore the importance of communicating with our future self.

Communicating with their future self can greatly benefit business professionals by providing clarity in goal setting, enhancing decision-making, and boosting motivation. It allows them to reflect on current choices, reduce stress by visualizing success, and gain new insights for problem-solving. This practice fosters personal growth and a sense of accountability, encouraging a more intentional and fulfilling professional journey while helping them navigate challenges with a positive outlook.

My future self is Jedi Steve. He is ready to become whatever he needs to be to walk his path. He possesses a wisdom shaped by just the right amount of failure and success to remain humble. He is willing to pause and reflect, seeking to anticipate which path is the most compassionate and life-affirming. However, a word of caution: communicating with our future self can sometimes feel boring and uneventful.

What is the SIMPLE SOLUTION?  I believe it lies in aligning with the right version of ourselves—past, present, and future—at the right time, or rhythm.

The synergy between our past, present, and future selves is essential for business professionals to thrive. Our past selves hold valuable experiences and lessons learned from successes and failures, which serve as a foundation for our present decision-making. By reflecting on these experiences, we can gain insights that inform our current strategies.

Present  = Name your Present Self

Future = Name your Future Self

Past = Name your Past Self

Our present selves, grounded in the here and now, can recognize opportunities and challenges as they arise. When we engage with our surroundings and stay attuned to market trends, we can make informed choices that honor the wisdom of our past while addressing current realities.

Speak to your Future Self and visualize the Roles of your Past, Present and Future selves.

Present  = Define your Present Self

Future = Define your Future Self

Past = Define your Past Self

Our future selves represent our aspirations and potential. By envisioning where we want to be, we can set goals and align our actions accordingly. This proactive mindset encourages us to seek out the right environments and connections that will facilitate our growth.

When our past, present, and future selves work together, we create a powerful framework for success. We learn from the past, act purposefully in the present, and plan strategically for the future, enabling us to navigate our professional journeys with clarity and intention.

To inspire heart-centered action, consider these questions:

– How can you acknowledge and honor the lessons learned from your Past Self while moving forward?

– What practices can you implement to strengthen the communication between your Present and Future Selves?

– In what ways can you cultivate humility in your daily interactions to foster a more compassionate environment?

– How can reflecting on your shadow self help you embrace the rejected parts of your personality and integrate them into your life?

– What specific actions can you take today to align with the aspirations of your Future Self?

Reflecting on these questions can empower you to engage more deeply with your past, present, and future selves, ultimately enhancing your personal growth and professional journey.
